Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE)
In an ideal factory, equipment would operate 100 percent of
the time at 100 percent capacity, with an output of 100 percent good quality
- Way to measure how effectively machine/equipment hours are used (value adding)
Overall equipment effectiveness is calculated as OEE = A*P*Q
Where, A = Availability factor, P = Performance factor, Q = Quality factor
Data collection is the very important basis to increase OEE
- Collect data for all downtime & losses on the machine
- Data analysis & visible measure
