SMART Goals
If
goals aren’t reachable, they aren’t worth making. To set realistic goals,
follow the SMART goals guidelines.
Specific
Define
the goal as much as possible with details.
- Who is involved?
- What do I want to accomplish?
- Where will it be done?
- Why am I doing this?
- Which constraints/requirements do I have?
Measurable
All
goals should have a way to evaluate whether or not they were accomplished
- Can you track the progress & measure the outcome?
- How much?
- How many?
- How will I know when my goal is accomplished?
Attainable
Must
be something are capable of reaching.
- Is the goal reasonable enough to be accomplished?
- Make sure the goal is not out of reach or below standard performance.
Relevant
Must
be an objective toward which you are both willing & able to work.
- Is the goal worthwhile & will it meet your needs?
- Is each goal consistent with other goals you fits with your immediate and long team plans?
Timely
Make
sure that have a time set as a “dead line” so goal is not unending.
- Your objective should include a time limit.
- It will establish a sense of urgency and prompt you to have better time management.

setting is an important method of:
- Deciding what’s important to achieve
- Motivating
